With the goal of consolidating its Melbourne workforce from two separate sites into one brand-new, premium office space, Allianz Australia selected Capabuild for this major commercial fitout at 555 Collins Street.

Built across 5 floors, the scope included 478 work points, 42 meeting spaces and a 5-level, soaring inter-tenancy stair that required extensive structural planning, management and coordination.

On a job of this scale, engaging trades and liaising with suppliers early was crucial. This allowed us to ensure all materials and equipment arrived to site in accordance with the program and any that didn’t align were prioritised, with subcontractors notified in advance to mitigate delay.

The network and IT setup was also a major consideration, with substantial risk to Allianz’s move-in date if any delays were to occur. Capabuild ran weekly security and AV meetings with Allianz IT teams, stakeholders and our subcontractors to make sure everyone was aligned and to pre-empt any potential risks. This extra measure proved invaluable, as we worked collectively, going above and beyond to meet deadlines and ensure a successful install.

As Allianz now enjoys its stunning new Melbourne office, Capabuild is honoured to have contributed to such a high-calibre and complex project.
