State Sports Centre Trust’s (SSCT) are progressively upgrading the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) to improve facilities for Australia’s elite athletes and members of the public.

This project focussed on an upgrade of the aquatic entry as well as improved food and beverage accessibility for patrons accessing the outdoor pool.

Working under live environment conditions, Capabuild carefully managed this project delicately balancing progress on site with the needs of the public visiting the pool. Capitalising on quieter periods of the day, the Capabuild team sequenced the works to minimise disruption often cleaning the site multiple times throughout the day.

Flexibility was a key requirement for this project and we often had to reschedule activities to work in and around sporting events and school visits.

Pleasingly, the result on this project opened several other doors and opportunities to complete further works at the complex.
