Overview
  • Occupied building
  • High end design
  • Heritage building
  • Staged delivery

Continuing our long-standing relationship with RMIT, Capabuild were engaged to deliver this multi staged project in the Heritage Listed, Building 8.

Working in an occupied building, under live environment conditions, we completed an integrated infrastructure upgrade of the existing mechanical system in conjunction with this fitout.

A key risk to the project, was the detail and magnitude of the joinery and this was identified early in the process. To mitigate this risk, we worked closely with the design team and our joinery subcontractor through design workshopping sessions to streamline the shop drawing and manufacturing process.

With challenging materials handling and access requirements, we utilised Rodda Lane for movement of people and materials in and out of the building, communicating daily with the RMIT team to ensure disruption of staff and students was minimised.

Pleasingly, this projects success has resulted in several other referred projects with both RMIT and other members of the Consultant team.
