GPT engaged Capabuild to deliver this lobby refurbishment at 530 Collins Street.

Working under challenging live environment conditions with the tenant in occupation, the works were carefully sequenced with noisy and intrusive works scheduled out of hours to minimise disruption. A safe path of travel from the lifts to the tenancy was always maintained.

The complex structural and timber slatted wall panelling design presented several buildability challenges. During pre-construction, Capabuild worked collaboratively with their key subcontractors and members of the consultant team to redesign the structural support and timber battening system as well as obtaining certification of the new design.

Following the successful completion of this floor, the same design has been utilised in the remaining lobby upgrades in the building.
