Deakin Downtown

Deakin’s key driver for this project was to provide a new standard in sophisticated, technology-rich, flexible spaces for staff members to use for functions, seminars, meeting and conferences, staff training and networking events.

With a Construction Management approach adopted, we were able to leverage the existing relationships with the consultant team and work collaboratively through the latter stages of design providing buildability solutions and lead time advice on many of the high-end finishes.

Once on site, we developed a prototype of several key design elements including the new Armstrong powder coated tubular ceiling system, a previously untried ceiling system. Not only did this ensure the quality of the ceiling, but it ensured the resolution of services coordination issues minimising risk to programme.

Our delivery team worked successfully with the project team throughout, and the result speaks for itself. Pleasingly, the outcome on this project resulted in the consolidation of a strong relationship with Deakin University that still continues today.
