Burnet Institute had a vision of transforming this outdated office, into a modern flexible workspace, fostering collaboration for the 175 staff whose work aims to achieve better health outcomes for vulnerable Australian and international communities.

Following appointment, Capabuild worked with the project team and the subcontractors to investigate value management options to reduce costs in line with Burnet Institute’s budget.

Working under challenging occupied building & live environment conditions during the height of the Covid lockdown, the works were carefully scheduled ensuring noisy or intrusive works were completed out of hours. This required careful sequencing and daily communication on upcoming works ensuring the Covid response teams in the Alfred Hospital could continue their critical work.

Capabuild maintained flexibility throughout and rescheduled works as required when unexpected challenges invariably arose.
